Job Description
SUMMARY
Receive phone inquiries from customer, take and enter orders, provide information such as product technical data, pricing, scheduling, shipment and delivery data. Provide Field Sales Managers, Territory Managers with information and assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive and initiate telephone communications with customers and company personnel at all levels of the organization.
Enter orders and other forms of specific product or customer information via keyboard and data screens to the computer.
Interface with expediter, credit, product standards, warehouses, plant personnel to check deliveries on orders and quotations.
Quote prices to customers on inquiries and confirm in writing if required.
Use computer and customer files to look up order information and retrieve information from sales catalogs.
Participate on project and problem solving teams.
Learn the organizations products, services and policies through various training programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate but Associates degree from two-year college or technical school preferred; Three years related experience for a manufacturing company and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to apply to objectively analyze/resolve customer related questions. Must have strong telephone and interpersonal skills and be able to function in a fast paced environment. Well organized and thorough with details and follow-up.
